Congratulations on an incredible debut at Showoffs last weekend! We were so impressed with all our teams, and our new uniforms looked stunning on the floor.

We also wanted to clarify why we ask some athletes to wear makeup and tan for competitions. At comps, judges and spectators are often sitting quite far away from the floor, so having makeup on and a tan makes the athletes more visible to the audience. The purpose of competition makeup is not to look natural per se, it is like stage makeup so might look a bit over the top in natural light. However, on stage with lights and all the other athletes, it appears much less intense.
We only ask athletes in Elite teams from the Junior age division and up to wear makeup and tan for competitions. Athletes on CheerSport and Novice teams are allowed to wear some make-up if they feel more comfortable, but they are by no means expected to; in fact, we would prefer that they appear more natural.
